There's a ton of helmet threads I know, but couldn't really find what I was looking for. What is the best lightweight MODULAR in the $500 and under range? Definitely want modular, so please don't tell me about a half or 3/4. I'm dead set on modular as that's what I have now and like it. Wearing a Harley brand now, but think it's a little too heavy. Heading out on a really big ride soon so trying to find something a little lighter and maybe even something with a little more air flow. Been looking at the Shoei's, but don't really want to spend $700-$800 for a helmet!
Great safety ratings for a modular. Can also get an anti-fogging pin insert for it.
Money left over to buy the Sena 10UPAD made for it.

That's almost exactly what I have, it's just Harley branded. Looks identical. I'm guessing they make them with Harley name on them? Doesn't have any other name/tag on it other than Harley.
One of the best rated modulars is the Shoei Neo-tec. Right now the 2 is out and is very pricy but a lot of the helmet dealers still have the original neo-tec. I picked mine up for $520 which is just over your price but it is a great helmet. Very comfortable, great feel and great reviews and ratings. Always one of the highest rated modular helmets.
Harley rebrands several manufacturers but mostly HJC I think.
My last one was an HJC RPHA max. Very comfortable helmet but you're back up in the $500 range and helmet comm integration is just clumsy which is why I went to the IS MAX 2. Does yours have a chin curtain? The one for the IS MAX 2 has to be ordered separately.
I would have recommended the Neotec but they're getting pretty hard to find and the HJC IS MAX 2 beat the Neotec in safety testing.

I have a Scorpion modular. I think it was $230 but don't remember. Try Revzilla. If you don't like 'em you can return 'em. Just don't wear 'em for anything other than a fit/comfort check.
I have been really impressed with my Shoei full face so I would definitely recommend their modulars. Revzilla has the Neotec 1 for $499 right now. I've not ridden in a Nolan or Schuberth but they seem to be made really well and depending on your size they may be available in your price range. And I would definitely go with Revilla because of their generous return policy. Most local stores won't let you return a helmet after you take it out of the store except for an exchange. However, a local shop may offer demo helmets so you can try a few models on your bike and take them for a ride to see how you like them.

It also has great peripheral and up and down vision.
