Hello...which bike???
2007 FXDL with 40k on it for $8000. Pretty much stock, looks clean, and meets my needs well. I'm sure I'd want to add pipes and a sissy bar, but otherwise is pretty solid.
2014 XL1200X with 5k on it for $8500. Has a 2 up seat, passenger pegs and sissy bar, plus Daymaker and the baffles were removed from the pipes. Looks great, price is good for my region, and has all the stuff I need. Tiny tank though, so I would likely want to swap it for at least the 3.3. But it would be fine for commuting and riding around town which is 90% of my riding.
2014 FXDB with 1500 miles on it for $11000. Basically stock, needs passenger accommodations for my wife, which will run around $3-500 for a seat, pegs, sissy bar, etc. Just seems like a good deal so it's on the radar even though it is over my budget.
2003 FXSTI with 27k on it for $6800. Has mounts for bags and windshield, Vance and Hines Big Radius pipes, and is fuel injected. Lowest price for a big twin and fuel injection around.
The bottom 3 are all from a motorcycle dealer near me, the top one is from one like 30 miles from me. The top one says they are going through it now, changing fluids and getting it ready, the rest are ready to go. Must haves include fuel injection, and the ability to add bags and passenger seat/backrest. I'm okay with a Sportster or big twin.
What do you all think? I'm not a first timer, I've ridden everything from sportbikes to a Goldwing. Most of my riding is commuting, and riding with friends or whatever. About 10% would be with a passenger - taking my wife on a date or kids for a quick spin around the block. Maybe a longer trip would be in there, but no more than once a year. Even that is stretching it with how my schedule looks with the kids sports and whatnot.
Anyway, thanks everyone, glad to finally be joining in!
The Sportster is priced too high.
I don't care for Softails.
The '14 FXDB is a bit too high but low miles and and near new makes it my choice.

I've found a couple of private parties that seemed ok, but either get no response when I've emailed or called/texted, or bike has been sold, or person was not available to check out the bike yet.
