Looks a lot like a VROD Muscle. I like it too, but how many will buy this as a practical motorcycle... that's always the issue, they look great but they don't sell all that well.
Most HD aren't too practical either, but most people who ride are fair weather, short distance riders anyway, so it doesn't matter all that much I suppose. The only one that looked useful to me was the off roader, but if HD doesn't get away from mild steel, it'll be a pig and the frame won't be up to the task.
I think HD chumped Indian by going to the 4 valve heads while Polaris was busy killing Victory and going backwards with their chrome monstrosities. The Sport Glide seems to be selling pretty good, but why not perfect it? Put dual disks up front, floorboards, full travel suspension, and a quick release windshield instead of that silly batwing thing. They could also fix the bags that only open up an inch.
I like bikes with mildly forward floorboards. There's almost no players still making them. What there is, HD owns and is either a tank or has some silly GD wheels or handlebars. Fix the minor flaws of the Sport Glide and drop its price $4k and I bet they'd get a lot of bites even from younger folks.
the suzuki gsx s1000 is 11k and the kawasaki z900 is 8.5k and the yamaha mt10 12k how is 8-12k not competitive price for the street fighter these are the bikes the street fighter will have to compete with
You know, I think you may be right. I wasn't aware of all the other models out there.
Let's not waste any time waiting for them to hit the dealer's floor. If we complain about all the engine issues now, we can actually enjoy them when they arrive, without worrying if they will implode.
I'm digging this! Kinda looks like a mix between a flat tracker and a drag bike. That street fighter will go a long way at attracting new blood to the HD brand. Hell, even some of the old salts wanna twist it in the twisties sometimes.
Personally, while none of those bikes will end up in my garage (wrong genre of bikes for me), I LOVE them! AND the idea of a 1250 CID water-cooled VROD motor.
