I like the idea of the dual sport but based on the current street engines with a displacement increase no so much. All going to come down to performance, reliability and price point and the mothership has a history of screwing the pooch on at least 1 of the 3 every new release. Suspect it will take several years before the buying public warms up to the idea of that motor design from Harley if ever.
Really, really nice bikes. I wouldn't buy one, I am an old fart, they aren't aimed at me anyway. I hope they work as well as they look. Way to go MoCo.

I would love to see what Harley could whoop up that is faired like a BMW RT, compete in the sport / semi sport touring front.

I thought their core market was motorcycles.

Looks like they kept the vrod engine, I can't wait for them to put one in a street glide. I want my bike but with a better and cooler engine. The VRod motor was the best engine they had in the stable so glad to see it's seeing new life in other models. A Street Glide with an option for M8 107 or VRod 1200, I'll take the 1200.
Unfortunately for Harley the trend is away from giant adventure bikes. I know, I have one and many companies are starting to push smaller ones like BMW, KTM and even Royal Enfield. Plus I can only imagine how much that thing would weigh when you consider how current Harley's tip the scale. I've had to pick mine up once from a dump in the sand and it wasn't fun. There is a guy on Youtube who converted his Sportster into an offroad scrambler type bike (link below). I've thought about doing this for a project bike.
The other bikes in that video look promising but Harley needs to really get their costs in-line. There is no way they are going to attract new customers with their current pricing.
