lol.....every thread I read, a new expertise.

The more complex the system, the more prone it is to catastrophic failure.

Not trying to be a dick, but I’m curious - looking at your sig, I’d guess your 2010 is the bike that had the ABS lock up. Had you ever done the recommended brake system flush? Theoretically your stock brake fluid could have been in there for 8 years, or four times the recommended lifespan. Just wondering...

For that matter, I think we should revamp our whole licensing process. Currently, if you can fog a mirror, they'll give you a license. I think that drivers and motorcyclists should have to display actual competency before being given a license.
I totally agree with this. I got my first motorcycle license in England and I can tell you the American motorcycle test is a joke.

I would hazard a guess and say no.

Yup.

And unfortunately, the same thing is true of how the states license the car drivers that we share public roadways with.

Seat belts save lives. There's little substance to debate against that one.

I think it is clear that ABS is superior to non-ABS in panic stop situations.

If someone doesn't want either one, that's their decision. Me? I'll take both.

Yeah the same could be said for some people that post on these forums.

Screw it, I want mandatory outriggers! Not one of those guys crashed. Seriously though, while I personally like ABS, traction control, seatbelts, helmets, etc., I wholeheartedly believe that none of it should be mandatory. It is not the government's job to protect me from myself. And yes, the driving tests are completely useless and only intended to make revenue.
