I wonder what that clear lube is. All I can find in clear on the internet is food grade, electrical component, and Tri-Flow, none of which are rated for anything as heavy duty as wheel bearings.

Hey all, I am about to put a new front wheel on my bike. I am going to have to install the bearings myself and I'm wondering if there is a better brand of bearings out there than HD factory? I bought a nice bearing remove/install kit from ebay and have watched several videos so I feel confident I can install them no problem, just want the best! I want to make sure this is done the best way with best parts available so it will be done right the first and hopefully only time! Thanks for any input and comments about this! Merry Christmas...
Go to your nearest industrial bearing supplier and get the best high grade available - I used good Japanese ones.

For anyone seeking an after market 25mm bearing, they are nothing more than a pilot bearing used in many applications and made by many manufacturers. Do a search for "25ID X 52OD X 15W " and choose the brand you feel dependable. The Timkin # is Fafnir/Timkin 205PP , NTN is 6205LL and so on. I see All ***** are selling an ABS kit but the HD ABS bearing is not failing at the rate the non ABS are.

I've had 3 ABS bearings fail, never had an issue with the non ABS bearing. Both original ABS bearings and one of the replacements was found to be rough when I had the tire changed.

If I remember right, I only got 10 or 11k on the set I tried. The stock H-D bearings at least gave me 22k.
