Question, Is the Road Glide seat a more comfortable one than a Street Glide seat? Thanks. I do know butt's may vary, am on the short side, but also looking for a 600 mile one way or better run with out the aches.
The Road Glide and Street Glide share the same seat as does the Specials with different stitching from the base model. They definitely need to be repadded with a quality memory foam to stop the dreaded butt burn.
If I might suggest, making your ride more comfortable consists largely in acclimating your butt to the seat instead of trying to make the seat more comfortable to your backside. More time in the saddle will do this, just like riding a horse. Last year I didn't get as much riding time and I added an Airhawk and an Alaska Leather Co. sheepskin to my '17 Roadglide and made my soft butt happier.
Failing that, you can always join in the multi-hundred (thousand?) dollar hunt for the perfect seat. After all, those folks got to make a living too...
The RG & SG seats are the same. Get yourself a seat off an Electra Glide Classic or Ultra. It is ugly and big but your *** will thank you a couple hundred miles into your trip.
Just my opinion but they both SUCK! After about 2 hours of sitting on the seat it gives way and feels like you are sitting on the fender. They are the same.
They are the same seat. The stock seat wouldn't work for two up so I bought a Tallboy. It is not much better. I sent the stock seat to Mean City and it's better but not the panacea I had hoped for. My 08' RKC had a Sundowner. I could ride that all day although it did push up on the tank.
