I have 2 leather jackets, both moco. One is a H.O.G. leather jacket, with the emobossed HOG logo on one sleeve, and the painted "established in 1983 on the other. I have no idea what year it was made. Picked it up off of ebay though. It was made here in the USA.
Other one is an FXRG jacket, about a decade old, I believe. Its much heavier and pliable leather, and had elbow and shoulder pads in the jacket. That one was made in indonesia.
One thing about sourcing overseas-they still have the same quality control standards there, as they would here. Labor and overhead are just MUCH cheaper.
This is an offshoot from another thread but has anyone ever bought one of the MoCo leather jackets from one of those celeb jacket sites? I know they’re knock offs. If you have what do you think? I know $100 vs $450 there’s gotta be a huge difference
Personally, I'd never but anything from the people who hid and protected bin ladin. Ah, see how some people forget? I'm just sayin'.
Bought black leather chaps and heavy duty jacket from Leather Up 2 years ago. No stink, good fit, good quality. Made in Pakistan. Less than half priced vs. HD MotoClothes. Still pleased with them. American textile industries were wiped out by NAFTA, probably including a fair portiont of leather gear. It's very hard to avoid all offshore clothes, electronics, almost everything.
There a places in Pakistan that you can get a perfectly hand made replica of an AK-47 (or many other guns) that works just as well as the real thing. Just sayin' the skill is there.
