Hello folks.... Its getting cold and I deperately need some warmer riding gear. I decided to go with leather overpants instead of chaps. Can anyone recommend good, inexpensive (if thats possible) leather overpants? I would prefer to buy via the web, its easier. Lastly, I found these and would like to know if anyone has any experience with these Tour Master Decker Pant. Thanks, and I appreciate any and all feedback.

I wouldn't buy anything from TourMaster. I bought a rainsuit from them ($100) and got a small abrasion in the pants after using them a few times coming back from Sturgis. Their website has no phone number and I emailed them three times and they never answered. If you have any problems with their product good luck trying to get it resolved.
I can say first hand that dealing with Jamin' Leather has been great. Keep in mind that, as far as I know, they are just the distributor but will stand behind the products they sell. I like mine so much that yesterday I just ordered the same pair of overpants for my wife as a b-day present. They said they would ship out today when in fact they actually shipped yesterday. They also have a free 30-day size replacement policy. If you need to exchange an item due to the incorrect size they will replace it with the correct size and pay the shipping back to you.
Thanks for the replies... I think I am going to order the overpants from jamin leather. Do these sizes run small, big, about right??? How heavy is the leather??
Brian, I think you have me sold on the Jamin' Leathers. One question though did you order a larger size then you normally wear in pants? And how many sizes larger, just one or more? Would like to save myself the aggravation of exchanging if their website doesn't accurately state what size to order. Thanks! Scott
I'm 6'2" and have about a 37" waist but need to buy larger pants due to my quads. In jeans I wear a size 40 relaxed fit. And depending on the cut and type of pants sometimes I need to go up to a size 42. Reading the pants description on the website it recommends to get a size larger than your waist. I imagine due to the fact that they will be going over your pants. Personally I would base that statemant not on your waist measurement but on the size pants you wear. Anyway...with all these things coming into play I ordered both the size 42 and 44. I returned the 42's. If I recall, after trying both pairs on and getting on and off the bike several hundred times, I wanted to have a little more movement for doing the leg swing over the TourPak. Now, the waist is a bit large for my actual waist size but the pants do have a double snap at the waist (which I overlap to make them tighter) and belt loops. I also ordered their "heavy duty" belt to use with the pants. The pants do fit a bit baggy when standing but while seated on the bike they don't bind at the knees and they ride up the leg just enough but still cover the cuffs of my dress pants. When getting on the bike I have to hike them up a bit to get a little more slack in the crotch for doing the leg swing-over. Lately I haven't been using the TourPak so getting on and off the bike has been a breeze. As per the web site the pants are 1.3mm thick leather. They are lined inside down past the knees and the side zippers have double sliders meaning you can zip / unzip from the top or bottom. The zippers are a heavy plastic and take a little while to break-in. At first I had to coax them along to zip them closed but now I've had mine for about two weeks and have no issues at all. I have treated them with a leather conditioner / waterproof. I can say from experience that they keep me warmer than my chaps do. The chaps will have their place as winter turns to spring.
In regards to the sizing and ordering....don't forget they have a free exchange policy. If you need to to return an item due to an incorrect size they will pay the shipping for the replacement item back to you. I ordered the two size at thr same time 'cause I'm an impatient bastard and didn't want to wait. Figured I'd be paying to have the pants shipped back anyway if I ordered the wrong size.
And as I have stated before...for the price difference between these and the other brand I bought, tried and returned (about $145 difference) I could buy a couple of these for the same price. Hopefully I won't have to.
Thanks alot brian! I went ahead and ordered two pairs (I too am an impatient bastard). The people at Jamin were super nice on the phone when the explained the return policy. Now the waiting begins......
