Default Calling all custom baggers

Ok guys and gals with custom baggers, I知 looking to build my bike up this winter, I知 curious as to how you guys choose your parts, and what look you was going for. Did you start with wheels and build around that look or did you do the body? I知 asking cause I have so many ideas but not sure where to go or start from, I see so many paint jobs and so many wheels and bolt on痴 but I can稚 decide where to start

If I were to "customize" it, I would start with the motor. Build it like I wanted it then go from there. Probably go after the tins next and paint them.

Gotta decide what YOU want. Cholo style? Big wheel? Performance bagger? Low rider? Once you figure out your “style” look for pix to get the ideas you’re looking for.

Oh. I thought this was a thread about custom baggers... not customizing baggers.
I turned my softail into a bagger and used the trailer hitch support brackets to mount the bags.
That was back before you could just buy and slap on bags.

Link to assembly pics for anyone interested: https://www.supermotors.net/registry/8509/25422

Good luck with it.

My version of a proper custom bagger would be not a bagger (delete the bags), old motor (at least an Evo, preferably a Shovel), crazy-slammed, dripping in chrome, beach bars, fishtails sticking out the back (but not too far), and (trust me on this, it would look killer) a solid, FatBoy front wheel.

Been kind of thinking about a build like that for a while now.

Someday...

Here is my custom bagger I went with looks first burgundy and cream with real gold leaf lettering then I started tossing every thing off the bike that I didn't like about it. after I got it looking like i wanted then I started working on the performance. Better heads, better pistons, better cams, better breather, more compression, "10.5:1" and more efficient exhaust. Then I started adding the decorations, 103 derby cover 103 points cover, and the older style square mirrors My next modifications will be comfort, better shocks, and a more comfortable seat, along with Hi way pegs. After that I an going to buy a good used sportster just to jack around on. Good luck with your mods

I decided to start with what it was lacking. Bars, seat, Suspension... then stage 1... I really like the performance bagger style. A form follows function style that still looks awesome to me. The mods make the bike more fun to ride, not the opposite.

Yup, your gonna have to decide what you want from the vision in your head, any advice given on this will be from other eyes and what they like, myself, I'm not a fan of custom baggers, JMO.

rk classic.
