Gidday all,
I am getting so many posts on facebook about scammers selling HD clothing, helmets, bed covers, shoes etc etc........So many people are ordering this stuff and not getting anythng at all. Ripped off. Money paid and and no result. I rang HD Australia and told them all about it, and the guy said he didnt know anything about all the HD labelled crap. The products don't even exist actually. Just lots of pretty pics to suck the buyers in. Terrible scenariou. Plus fictitious shop names used as well. So HARLEY DAVIDSON USA, that is whats going on. Arseholes out there, flogging your Harley Davidson labelled products, which is illegal for a start. EG: --------Helmets For Life-Thats what I sent to HD Australia, and he said yep, its bullshit, nothing to do with HD ......But all the bogus addresses look much the same. So all you people out there, don't get sucked in by these ******. Thanks, Philthy. This wild bull bumped into my Harley Davidson Rocker outback qld Australia...

I'm on Facebook only because that's one of the ways I keep in touch with our daughter. I, too, have gotten flooded with counterfeit H-D gear ads. I got so sick of it and after reading that FB does nothing about counterfeit vendors, I sent an email to H-D. Here was their response:
Hi Stephen,
Thank you for contacting the H-D Online Store. We are very much aware and do care! So much so, we have a separate department that handles our social media. We also are aware of the amount of counterfeit that has plagued the H-D brand--we are working on this. Thank you for your concern and rest assured we are working on "cleaning up" some of issues surrounding the brand name.
My wife makes fun, but I'm leery about online shopping in general. Didn't know about this specific situation however. Good to know. The MoCo is so big I doubt they'll ever lose enough business to care. Tons of people still flock to shop in the dealers and I think they make more from clothing sales than motorcycle sales. Please correct me if I'm incorrect on that though.
2% of trailers from China arriving @ Port of Los Angeles get inspected by US Customs........
60% of ALL goods imported from China are counterfeited brand products......
Do the math........then ask Gibson Guitars how well the anti-counterfeiting laws work
the moco should be like disney.....that company very aggressively pursues counterfeit merchandise
They supposedly do. My FB feed kept getting plastered by an ad selling HD logo shoes- clearly not legit, not to mention very ugly. Whomever ran the ad quickly answered product questions. Until I asked if the products were licensed.
No reply. Several other posters asked where their order was and why it was taking so long. Again no reply.
HD used to be pretty serious about this stuff. Used to be if you had a few aftermarket goodies, you couldn't advertise it as a HD for sale. HD would sue people for it. Had to be pretty much stock to advertise HD for sale.

Tell the Harley dealerships selling used bikes that...
Problem is, most of these counterfeit products and scammers are offshore. US consumer and patent laws are not really effective against people working in the shadows outside of the country. You can try and stop, but its just a finger in the dyke as the next website is already lined up for when the current one gets shut down.
