Well I have 6,000 miles on my Dunlop 402's and they are showing wear but not nearly worn out or thinking of replacing. That is the most I have ever got out of tires! I used to wear rears out in 4,000 -6,000 and go two rears to one front when I had 19 or 18 inch fronts???. This Softail is my first 21" skinny tire. It shows about as much wear as the rear. I am not complaining either!
Dunlop must use a better compound than on the old 291 and a bit later the 491. Those tires used to have a "S" sport which stuck like glue but were gone in 2000 miles or "T" touring which lasted about 4,000 miles.
I will never forget the radio ad back in 1984: "Tired of slippin' and slidin' on your motorsickle? Get Dunlop 291's. They let you put your ear on the grond before they'll put your *** there!" I have been a loyal Dunlop customer since!
