It's a done deal, Harley is going to be a HarhonleyDravisungfor 09,,,, Rumors the vicious evil, sometimes true,,,,,sometimes fiction,,,,, really I don't have a clue!!!!!
Well if it is true you will be able to buy a HD much cheaper. That would suck, but I don't doubt it for a minute either way. Todays world is all about the $ and Honda has butt loads waiting for ***** G. I hate the thought of it. If it is true, thank God I have a real HD.
A merger? No way. A leverage buyout? Could happen. Would be good for Honda and let's face it, would probably be good for Harley too! HD could benefit a great deal when it comes to things like quality control and Honda's deep pockets for thing slike R & D which would make Harley as a brand even better. The company wouldn't have to lose it's sole and actually become a Honda. I think Honda alread knows how to build Honda's. I think they would be interested in HD to run the business as a seperate franchise, much like it is now, just with Honda as a parent company.

Better? I don't want to own a Harley if it's a mass produced, quality controled, dime-a-dozen, stamped outunit.....Like Metrics.
Not everything needs to be improved to be better.

What he said. If Honda buys HD my next ride will be a Victory. If it happens thank God I have my 05 for now.

Umm....Dinger. I hate to be the one to break the news to you, but a Harley IS mass produced and exported worldwide. These bikes are not "hand made" and while theyare still made in the US, most of the parts aren't. HD has been outsourcing overseas for years. Plenty ofparts from China and other countries on our Hogs. Some just don't realize it, others pretend not to know it and others just flat out are in denial over it. HD has been suffering fromquality issues for the past few years and it only seems to get worseevery year. It seems they are workinh hard on fixing the problems but are always behind the 8 ball.
As far asimprovements are concerned. Considering that thedefinition of of the word Improvement is to be made "better" I'd be real curious to hear how you think things could be made better by not making any improvements.
