My bezel on my speedometer is a little worse for wear. Anyone know of a speedometer rebuilder that could replace the bezel? I have tried to find a replacement OEM speedometer for my 96 FXSTS and striking out everywhere. Not interested in aftermarket or the generic replacements out there.
Looks like they just do lights and recalibration. I mainly just need a new bezel to get it looking right. Problem is removing the bezel, or at least when I attempt to, destroys it. It is crimped and sealed on. I had a dent and removed the bezel to remove the dent. Now the speedo isn't crimped on very good.
I sent the company a message. Hopefully it is something they can fix.
Sorry to revive this thread, but if anyone else has a speedometer bezel that is looking a little worse for wear, there's no need to have your speedometer stripped down to have your bezel reworked.
There are bezel accent overlays available on eBay that will cover up the stock bezel, they only cost around $8.00 a piece and they are available in matt black or chrome finishes. The accents can be installed in seconds, just peel off the red backing strip and the double-sided tape will hold them securely on top of your stock bezel. These bezel accents fit Sportster and some Dyna Glide models, there are larger accents for models with fuel tank mounted instruments.
I bought two for the dual instruments on my 2011 XL883N when the paint on my bezels got a bit chipped, below is an image of them on my Iron 883. I personally think the look rather smart when installed.
