Default windshield angle

I am getting ready to install my windvest and am assuming straight up is the best angle, but noticed a few ics where it seems they are angled slightly back and was hoping someone might have some insight.

As of now, I am planning on around 90 degrees.

If you look closely at the bikes with windshields you'll notice that the angle of the windshield closely follows the angle of the forks, some sit a little straighter up than others but they are just about on the same angle as the forks.

Default RE: windshield angle

When I first got mine I didn't have a tank lift and it seemed the angle was more critical. Started out with the general flow of the screen equal with the flow of the line of the fork tubes, got on the interstate with an allen wrench and moved the top of the screen about an inch at a time til it felt the best.Best I can remember moving the top forward about two inch from where I started was best. A small bag at the base of the shield on the inside helps also.

When you adjust the heigth you can move the windshield up and down with the outer screws but you can also mount the handle bar clamps upside down to get some more downward adjustment if you need it,at least on my bike with the mini-apes.

Good Luck

Tom
