Default Ride Planner Problem

I created a route from start to end with H-D Ride Planner. I has 4 points along the way. I downloaded it to gpx file, and imported on the bike. However when I start the trip, it breaks up the map into 4 different pieces. My question is - why doesn't it show the entire route? It looks like I would have to import one at a time, when I get to each point. Any ideas?

Change the points to waypoints before downloading it, then it should be one complete trip.

and if you hadn't already, be sure to zoom in on your map and double check that the waypoints are on the right side of the street. don't need the gps telling you to make a bunch of u turns so you hit all waypoints.

Also, if you have a bike with the BOOM GTS then its much easier to use the HD phone app to send the route to your bike, one click 'Send to bike'... simple.

Any time you have "Locations" in your planned route, the Nav on the bike will break the ride up into individual rides assuming each location is a End point. So, after creating the ride, make sure you change any "Locations" to "Waypoints" so the route is continuous from you "Starting point" to the final "End Point".

I won't pick Ride Planner Gas station or Restuarant Icons either. It is easier to manipulate if you type in the address for the gas station or restuarant as a "Location" and then change it to a "Waypoint" before saving. It wont let you change an Icon picked "Location" to a "Waypoint".

And, like previously mentioned, instead of downloading, it is a simple process to use the Ride Planner mobile app to "Send Ride to Bike". Just make sure you close the app on the PC after saving the ride before using the mobile app. For some reason they both can't be open aat the same time.

JFYI, If a "Waypoint" is an actual "Location" you want to stop at, like a gas station or resturant, when on the ride just as you reach the "Waypoint", if you "Pause" the ride, you can ride around the area with out messing up the route. When leaving and getting back on the planned route, simply hit "Resume" and it will pick up where you are on the planned route.

Thanks for the help. I have an older version of the Boombox, (2018 Bike). I did the download and it eliminated the segmentation of the map. It will probably just take some practice on my part to get the hang of it.

I've been mapping a long trip on ride planner. Yesterday I get on it to do more work, and now nothing is working correctly, even the mileages are off big time. Like routing from Tonopah, Nevada through Yosemite, then over to Hwy 1 on the coast, all the way north to Eureka, it shows it being like 21 miles! WTF?

Ride planner is having some major problems. I've called in twice and they say they are aware of the issue. Try to export your gpx file and you get an error. To have a commercial web site down for over a week is dumbfounding....

^^^This. Go back & edit the Locations to waypoints. Right now, it treats each Location (Stops) as a new route.

Glad to know that. I've been seeing a lot of post on various forums complaining about Ride Planner. Maybe an update they were trying to do didn't go so well. Like some have said, there is a learning curve, but once you figure it out, it works quite well.
