Those things arent at all related, plus its not yourself dying that is the issue, but giving it to a loved one who then dies.
Ah yes, the old "you'll give it to your grandparents and they'll die" defense...
OR - and I'm just spitballing here - you could NOT have direct contact with Granny if you're going to be out and about... Crazy thought, I know...
Look - my mother is 76 and has several underlying health issues. I haven't seen her live since March. Instead we use technology to visit and communicate. Why? Because like the IT guy above, even if I were masked up at all times, I could get it and give it to my mother. So instead of hiding in my basement and pretending that will keep me safe, I protect my mother, who is the one at high risk.
I recognize "personal responsibility" has become an archaic term that few, if any, young people seem to fully comprehend, but back in the olden days, we understood that protecting me and mine is one person and one person alones responsibility - mine.
We camped at Keystone Lake State Park, Wyoming. About 1.25 hr. Ride from there to Sturgis. Roughly 30 minutes to Devils Tower. Made our way to DT first thing in the am. No crowds or traffic to speak of. From there to Aladdin, Deadwood, Sturgis, Ending up at Rushmore. The entire day of riding seemed against big numbers of bike traffic or maybe we just got lucky. Fabulous time the three days we were in the area. Ill go back again!

Maybe it isnt about your mother, but the mothers of the cashier at the Walmart or the waitress At the restaurant, or the auto mechanic who has no choice but to continue to serve the its all about me crowd while taking care of their mothers, or wives, or kids, who have underlying conditions.
We have a personal responsibility not to spread this disease to anybody, not just your mother.
And seriously, someone who made the choice to go to a gathering like Sturgis in the middle of a pandemic has no business preaching about personal responsibility.

And there you go... thanks for proving my point. Lack of common decency.
So, you call it lack of common decency simply because he told you to take responsibility for your own actions, and because you judge others who don`t agree with you as people who you are going to blame if you get the virus? How dumb is that?......... Typical liberal f*cked up thinking....
I work in a hospital in IT and am very careful at work but just tested positive the other day after testing negative the week prior, symptoms come on fast. It doesn't matter, it will find us all one way or another. Nicest week of weather of the year so figures. Be safe

Just because you`re away from patients doesn`t exclude the risk of getting the virus. Even though the HVAC systems are separated from certain areas, the fact that you`re still IN the building still puts you at higher risk than if you were elsewhere and not in that environment.
