You can fight stupidity though. Scientists have offered the best recommendations for this unknown virus. And in turn, those scientists are regularly disparaged ... but yet we are relying on them to save our *** with a vaccine. Meanwhile a significant amount of the population is acting irresponsibly. Causing more harm to fellow citizens and our economy. There is no excuse to be where we are at now... other countries infection rate were on par with the US and they have done a much better job. We can do better and it's not too late to start.
The talking heads you see on TV claiming to be experts are not scientists nor are they experts. And they are certainly not involved in developing a vaccine except as investors. The fact is very little is known about covid-19. That includes how it spreads, how it behaves in the body, and ways to kill it. There are many true researches working on it. They never appear on TV. But their progress is slow and overly encumbered by politics, misinformation spread by the media, and finger pointing such as in your post. No one should ever be labeled as irresponsible just because they want to live their lives as normal people do. The Sturgis Rally was attended by hundreds of thousands doing what the US Constitution guarantees them the right to do. They caused no harm to the economy, to the citizens, or to the country. They made their own decisions. It's called FREEDOM!
Now two weeks after the official end of the rally,
100 is still the best number anyone can come up with ?
If that number stays the same and based on the % of people who die from Covid, your chances of dying are higher just going to or from Sturgis than covid. Betting no one in the MSM will make that point.
I read somewhere that the largest attendance ever for he Sturgis rally was the 75th in 2015 at 739,000!
My first rally was the 49th and I (we ) enjoyed it so much that we retured for the 50th in 1990 (I actually made two trips out that year), the 60th, the 61st, and the 70th!!!
As I remember (I could be wrong) the town crown in Sturgis seemed larger than any other than I have attended and the temperartures seemed higher to me for the 60th and 61st but it could be that I'm just getting older and softer.
I work in a hospital in IT and am very careful at work but just tested positive the other day after testing negative the week prior, symptoms come on fast. It doesn't matter, it will find us all one way or another. Nicest week of weather of the year so figures. Be safe

Curious , how many times have you been tested since this started ?

Just the twice. Contact tracing shown I had contact with a positive staff member...we were masked. I was on the radar because of it but when tested after 7 days, was negative. Started feeling like crap 3 days later then tested again as positive.
