The slower rider owns the lane.

Faster and/or overtaking bikes should legally pass when it's safe.

It's that simple.

It's called respect. Not saying you can't pass a Patch. You can. It's all in how you do it. Again, respect. Not sure how much better I can explain it.
Ok,whats a 3pp? I know it as third party publishing. Which I'm sure this is what it's meant here.

So you are not allowed to pass someone because they are 1%? Especially on an interstate where there is more than one travel lane in the same direction? What a bunch of BS! If I want to pass someone 1% or not and its perfectly legal to do so I will. How is that disrespect?

On another note. The second bike flew by the two of you, the first one chased the other one down, chewed out the other rider and then they slowed down enough for you to pass them just so they can follow you to show you respect for thinking you were a 1%? 1% or not that's laughable!

How long have you been riding and on this forum?

Three pages and I did not see a clear conclusion to the OP question of:

Is it "considered correct motorcycle highway etiquette to move to the right side of your lane and wave faster riders by on 2 lane highway when they close in on you"

As I replied and supported previously, I'll repeat and still say, yes, it is proper etiquette.

Maybe this thread should be convert to a poll?

Seems that significant majority view this as common courtesy.

Sometimes I don't look at something as "Is it legal?" so much as "Is it safe?"

If bikes come up behind me I'll move to the right and wave them by, but only after checking for oncoming traffic and curves.

The left lane is for passing only. Stay in the right lane and this entire thread is a non issue.

I'd be silly to take any notice. I'll overtake when I decide it's safe. In the meantime, I'd prefer you just carried on riding and stayed predictable.

On a two lane road like the Dragon, Monshiner 28 and so on, I will move far right an wave a faster bike on. It not often that happens. I also often come up an very slow bikes on the Dragon who will not move over, nor will they wave you by. Many times these bikes are from Flat state with straight roads and the rider is scared. They are riding so slow, its hard to ride that slow. I'll pass them on the double yellow. They are a danger to them selfs and others.
