Not too long ago, I was riding down I-25, not going too fast, maybe 5 or 10 over. In my mirror I see a sportbike closing in on me fast. He got about to where I figure he could see my patch, hit the brakes hard. He maintained about 30 meters behind me. Shortly after that, another sportbike guy came blasting past both of us. The first one went around and caught up with. It looked like he was chewing him out, then they both slowed down and let me pass. I found it a bit amusing as we are not 1%, though we are 3PP.

It's called respect. Not saying you can't pass a Patch. You can. It's all in how you do it. Again, respect. Not sure how much better I can explain it.
Ok,whats a 3pp? I know it as third party publishing. Which I'm sure this is what it's meant here.
So you are not allowed to pass someone because they are 1%? Especially on an interstate where there is more than one travel lane in the same direction? What a bunch of BS! If I want to pass someone 1% or not and its perfectly legal to do so I will. How is that disrespect?
On another note. The second bike flew by the two of you, the first one chased the other one down, chewed out the other rider and then they slowed down enough for you to pass them just so they can follow you to show you respect for thinking you were a 1%? 1% or not that's laughable!
Three pages and I did not see a clear conclusion to the OP question of:
Is it "considered correct motorcycle highway etiquette to move to the right side of your lane and wave faster riders by on 2 lane highway when they close in on you"
As I replied and supported previously, I'll repeat and still say, yes, it is proper etiquette.
On a two lane road like the Dragon, Monshiner 28 and so on, I will move far right an wave a faster bike on. It not often that happens. I also often come up an very slow bikes on the Dragon who will not move over, nor will they wave you by. Many times these bikes are from Flat state with straight roads and the rider is scared. They are riding so slow, its hard to ride that slow. I'll pass them on the double yellow. They are a danger to them selfs and others.
