I have a 2017 Black Road KIng and a 2008 Heritage Softail. Thinking about changing out the Softail for an older Road King. Came across a 2009 King with a teal and cream color scheme which I love. They have the old school look. Are there others that have two bikes of the same model? And is a 2009 with 20k miles worth $9500? NADA says it does, but I don’t find NADA to be true in reality.
Note: Nothing against the Softail. One of the pretties bikes I’ve owned. However with major knee issues I can’t get comfortable enough to ride more than an hour even with seat, pegs, and handlebar changes. Had a few surgeries.
Love my Road King, but two of them?? Nahhhh-- If I could ever afford another bike, I'd buy something smaller. Scout 60, Sportster, KTM390. whatever.....maybe if that happens way in the future, even a FreeWheeler !
Good luck in your decision. I know a lot of long time bike owners eventually have 2, 3 or even more, bikes. I haven't been a "biker" very long. I am playing catchup !
I wouldn't want two , as a matter a fact , I would love to have a heritage sittin beside my king . I've always loved the heritage because you can strip them down and go solo , and the softail frame looks awesome to boot . I'll own one some day , when the King gets to heavy for me to handle and my wife gives up being a passenger .
Love that old two tone paint , getting tired of dealing with black , plan on painting it 2 tone next year , just haven't decided on color .

Finding a quality pain guy to do the color change can be a challenge. Plus what would that cost?

That was my firs choice. But my knee really hurts when I ride any amount of time on my current Softail. No fun riding when hurting.
Go for it...beat them up on the price the best you can then buy it. They're the same bike but different because of years in between. I have an 08 road king and I drool over the thought of adding a brand new one to go with it. I also want to add an early twin cam carbureted dyna...build a 98" sleeper out of it. Lifes short...you get one turn on the big spinning rock so do what makes you happy.

My bil has a good friend who owns a body / paint shop , met him at a bbq , he told me as long as I remove all the tin's , he'll paint the 2 tone , price will be negotiated then , it won't be cheap , but well done .
I have a 1998 Softail Heritage Springer, and a 2013 Softail Heritage TC. Technically, yes I have two Heritages, in reality they are vastly different....
