That from the scene from the ending of Easy Rider?

Lost my front fender tip on my 65 FLh on HWY 58 coming out of Bakersfield CA. This was back in the late 80s. Never gave it a thought to go back and retrieve it. Just pot metal right. Last year when I began the re-do of the 65 I pulled off my rear fender tip and saw that it was made by "ACME" and had a harley part number. No way I could find a used one so had to go aftermarket. Noticeable difference (to me anyway) of fitment between the original and aftermarket parts.

I've had the shifter rod end nut come off more than once causing shifting havoc. Also lost numerous mufflers over the years.

My buddy was flying along on the interstate on his '59 FLH and his tin outer primary came off! He had to have forgot to put all the screws in the day before, but to this day he adamantly denies it and blames vibration LOL.

I borrowed a friends softail and while I was riding in a canyon, one of the handlebar riser bolts fell out. I was able to stop ok, though.
I have not lost much from my own bikes, but I used to ride with a group with a lot of customs, and I have avoided all kinds of crap.
Here is a short list:
mirror
footpeg
saddlebag
baffle
muffler
dragpipe
heatshield
turn signal
purse
jacket
iphone
air cleaner cover
chain

The hardest one to avoid was the dragpipe. The size and shape made it go all over the place, and hitting it would have sucked.
I like SPACE in front of me when I ride, and the noisy customs can stay behind me.

Almost forgot...two drive belts.
They didn't really fall off so much as I kinda sent them flying out the back of the bike.
I don't do bagger wheelies anymore...but it's nice to know you can.

I was riding my dyna wide glide, I had just installed a DK air filter

Was on the highway when I noticed the cover had popped right off and flew off the bike, I had to hold the filter in place with my right knee until I got to a stop. I was able to tape it up and make the ride home

I am getting a little tried now. I think I will go home.

I believe you're referring to the heel shifter. Or "heal" shifter as it's more commonly known here.
