Default Motorcycle Transportation

I am planning a trip to the Rapid City SD area for the end of May. I am shipping my bike there ahead of time. I have talked to a couple shippers so far but they all want to pick up the bike the first week of May to ensure it's in South Dakota by the 29th. Is this standard operating procedure or can anyone recommend a shipper that I can speak to to get some answers?

Any help is appreciated.

I have a Snickers bar if you need it ??

I just scheduled shipment with Haul Bikes

You are not going to get the dates you want. They need to work with drivers and schedules in the area. The quote I got from Haul Bikes states this right in the quote..
  • Pickup is estimated to occur within 11 days of booking your order not including the date booked.
  • Delivery is estimated to occur up to 21 from booking your order.
There is no way they could ever operate trying to work around everyone's schedule.

I get it...the time it takes to ride there may cut into your time there.
Check out renting a bike. Might be cheaper.
We did a Fly/Ride to Phoenix once. Saved me 3-4 days of time to get there, and the weather from my place was going to be about 23-30 degrees for most of the way there.

Actually I just checked another shipper. I used them last year to ship a car. They can tell you the pickup date and delivery window. They were great with my car and now just checking with them again for my bike, I'm going to use them again. It is about $100 more, but the pickup time is known and the delivery window is 10 days sooner. Road Runner Auto Transport You have to call them to get a motorcycle quote as their online quote only has auto makes.
