What do you think ?
and if the idiot wasn't on it then that's 10 times as bad!
It makes you wonder what the hell is going through peoples minds sometimes!
lol . . ouch!
Hey, I don't consider myself a bleeding heart, but when you live in NYC, your views of the world are quite different than when you live in a town where your wife might be your cousin. lol.
I've noticed that being I'm a Canadian living down
here! ..... LOL"

You know what gets me, we can see in this thread, what is considered an acceptable risk for one person is seen as completely asinine by another.
Weâre doggin on this gal for riding an infant in a baby seat, and while I donât agree with it, if itâs not against the law (as stated in GA), then she found that to be an acceptable level of risk.
I read one guy in here who wouldnât have his kid on the back of a bike before theyâre 16 while my boy has been riding with me since he could reach the footpegs (5 years old). I rode with my dad at that age and some of my best memories are of spending time with my pops as a kid carving up canyon roads and stopping for a soda at the top of some random mountain. My boy wears a helmet, leather jacket, jeans, boots and gloves before we head out. Some would probably call me irresponsible, but regardless of what you do, not everyone is going to be happy with your decision.
So for those folks that say an infant is too young, what is an acceptable ageâŚ5âŚ10âŚ16âŚnever? If we go by that logic, we'd never ride with children, because by law they're not cognizant of their actions until they're 18.What gets me about this entire conversation is that while folks are condemning this gal, there are folks out there that condemn us period because we ride scootsâŚthey think a scoot is an unacceptable risk.
We donât live in a plastic bubble protected from everything that harms us and life itself is a riskâŚwhy not get over it, live life and create some damn memories.

WhenI see a young rider out, maybe to young IMO, I say a prayer for an enjoyable ride, and their safe return home, and go on.

Obviously we all have different ideas about our childrens safty vs. acceptalble risk, who are we to judge/legislate common sence. [:-]

Its just my personal opinion, but I think if the passenger can not reach the foot pegs (in their stock location)it should be against the law for that person to be on the back of the bike.
I have a friend who's a dwarf. She's a grown adult, lives her own life, and works for a living just like any of us. And she doesn't have a prayer of reaching the foot pegs on a motorcycle. She'll unfortunately never be able to ride on her own, but she's gotten on the back of a bike now and then (braces her feet on top of the shocks) with someone else and has had a blast. By your standard it would be illegal for her to do that. Well I say, damn anybody who tries to tell her she can't have a little fun on a bike as best she can.
Now babies on motorcycles... I can't say I agree with that. But where do you draw the line? What age is okay? (Personally I think the guy who won't let his kids ride till they're sixteen is going to have a little trouble if he approaches everything that way, kids generally don't handle the "do as I say, not as I do" thing very well.) I'd support a helmet law for children under 18 on motorcycles, which would be sufficient to protect the really little tots, like in this example, who can't wear a helmet yet. Not sure I'd go much further than that though. Heck, I had my own (mini) bike at 12 and had ridden the neighbor kids' minibike off & on for several years by then. And I'd been on the back of a street bike younger than that too.
And that's wherelaws that aren't thought through cause trouble.

For whoever said he would not take his kid on his bikebefore the child was 16: hell, IOWNED my first motorcycle before I was 16. DL at 14 back then in SC.
Whatworries me is when bikers take their dog on the bike with them. Man, I love dogs.
