I get complimented all the time on my bike, but what I hear most of the time is, "You must save alot on gas." I always tell them "No, costs about the same each week, but I put on 5 times as many miles."
Yeah I get compliments on my springer no matter where i go. people love this bike! Even at dealers & at rallys & stuff, I really like the interaction it starts up. Lots of good conversations begin when people ask me about my bike! At my work there are only 3 of us that ride but we get to aprk in the lot & the screwed some metal square tiles into the ground to put our kick stands on, Living in Ann Arbor MI is cool, cops dont care, you can park a Bike ANYWHERE! No tickets ever its awesome!
Ive received compliments form some of my co-workers and even heard stories of soem of the bikes a few of them had back in "the day" (late 50's age range). One guy had a couple triumphs and a Sportster that was stolen so he never bought another HD and the other is this skinny little women (who could probably kick my *** because she is tough) who "years ago" used to own a ride a HD with a kick start and it took her both legs on it to kick it over. One of my younger co-workers even went as far as to call me "them amn" for having such a nice bike and now he is reconsidering purchasing a sport bike in favor of an HD. Of the 300+ people here there are only maybe 7 - 8 of us who ride to work regularly.
Cool thing recently on my way to work and caught in traffic this semi pulls next to me and ye;lls out his window "sweet bike!" and it did make me feel good. Tu
The other day I came out of the super market and got on my bike and a guy in his mid 60's was walking to the entrance and he smiled and cupped his hand behind his ear indicating he wanted to hear my pipes. I obliged him.

He worked 40 hours a week in an air-conditioned office - had no one bother him, had his own computer, phone and key, he was making $11.20/hr to start with. Heck - when I started working I made just over $3/hr!!!!
Ya, but the cost of living is a little higher than what it was back when Lincoln was President.[sm=badbadbad.gif]
