2 weeks
Going crazy now its been 2 weeks since I managed to get the bike out due to the crap weather over here. I went to the International Bike Show at the NEC yesterday because it was throwing it down and what a disapointment that was ! but one thing that I noticed especially looking at the English version of a cruiser aptly named the American is how poor the design and build quality was. It had a toe & heel gear shift but if your feet was bigger than size 7 your foot would not fit on the running board due to the space between the heel & toe shift being small. In fact your foot rested on the shift !!
I hered an read lot of criticism on Harleys but after sitting on nearley 30 other bikes USA, EU, JAP I would not swop mine for the world. Harleys may be expensive but the build quality of the parts were far superior than the others and as for the other American V twin site taking the P**ss out of Harleys starting up then in my opinion if I wanted something that tacky & naff I would go for a rice burner cruiser.
I sat on one of the huge Jap bikes you know the one with the press to wave at your fellow biker button and could not bend my foot enough to even change gear and the riding position was terrible and if you want that much cover by a car !
All in all I think that my HD is the comfiest machine that I have ever sat on and well done Harley-Davidson
