My issue with it is I'm not a fan of the shape of the 3 gallon gas tank. I love the look of the 5 and 6 gallon tanks on the Harleys.

Hard to recommend a bike without knowing your riding habits. If it was me, I'd go for the Heritage, a black one with chrome laced wheels. My second choice would be the Slim. I'd add a detachable windshield and bags for trips. I'm not a fan of the Fat Boy. Harley lost me when they changed the styling.

Hello. Just wondering why you would take a Yamaha or Valkyrie over a Fat Boy? Thanks.

Hello. Just curious what you are riding now? Didn’t you have a Fat Boy? I am looking myself.

I'm in the "Heritage" Gang.
I've been riding since '69 (H-D's since '74) and I've basically went through their entire line-up of bikes.

Sportster-a blast to ride from bar-to-bar and on curvy roads but NOT a bike for riding and distance.
Low Riders (and all Dynas)- are a good compromise between "cruising and touring" bit still a bit too small at least for me.
Heritage and Fat Boy- I prefer the Heritage because of it's easy handling and the OEM windshield and bags.
Road King-we've had two and they're a compromise in weight and handling between the Heritage and the Ultra
Ultras/Electra-Glides, I've owned three (still have my CVO Ultra) and they are great "tourers" but are a bit too much to handle for most riders.
Tri-Glides-The ultimate "tour machine" BUT it can be a chore to ride on curvy roads and isn't as comfy as it may look.

Bikes are a very personal decision, which can and should be determined by what kind of riding that you prefer or do the most of the time but IMHO the two best "tradeoff" models than can easily fit into either the "cruising or touring" modes is the Heritage or the Road King.

That said, the perfect solution would be to have more than one bike in the garage to choose from!
