I have a half, 3/4, and two full-face helmets. Both full-face helmets make my nose start itching like crazy after a few miles. Are they picking up vibes from my bike or what? I know this sounds nuts, but I can't figure it out. I like wearing my half helmet in the summer, but I'd like to be able to wear my full-face helmet in the winter.
It could be a high frequency vibration of the face shield(s). I had the same problem when I rode one of my Beemer GSs until I bought a Shoei RF1200 FF helmet which has a thicker shield than my old helmet had. It's also more aerodynamic. But yes, it might help if you do a deep trim of your nose hairs.
If your nose hairs are driving your nuts those are either really long nose hairs or that is one uncomfortable riding position.
it was the first thing I thought of when the OP posted....if he has one of those helmets that allows a stream of air to enter near the chin and travel up and past the face, the air stream could be agitating nose hairs, trimmed or untrimmed, this could make the nose feel itchy
