Who has used Platidip on their bike and how has it held up? I just installed the color matched King Tourpack. I swapped the chrome hinges to gloss black to match the other gloss black accents on my bike. On the bottom of the tour pack is this chrome trim piece. I looked all over the internet and the parts department at the Harley shop and I couldn't find this trim piece in gloss black. I decided to remove them and try to paint them. I used Plastidip paint so that if I messed up or it looked bad I could peel it off. I think it came out really nice. Plastidip only comes in flat instead of gloss but you cant tell unless your really looking. I used Plastidip to paint the chrome Toyota emblem on my truck grill 6 years ago and it's still there and hast peeled off. That's on the front grill that takes direct hits from rain, road grit etc. Trim after Plastidip Stock chrome trim
i used a bit of plastidip on my last bike, a 2013 cvo roadglide. the front turn signals were chrome and i wanted them to be black. so black they became. lasted for a couple of years, until i totaled that bike and got a new one.
there is a clear glossifier that is available that gives it a little more shine, though it won't ever look like vivid black. i think it came out good. i wouldn't hesitate to do that on my bike. there is another option though, hd sells blacked out lights for that location.
I am a HUGE Plasti-dip fan. I've done horn covers, chrome fork lowers and other stuff. As was said, Glossifier with shine it up a bit; so will that stuff that's designed to protect exterior parts.
Oh, I also Plasti-dipped the wheels on my Miata. They get compliments everywhere.
The stuff seems to have no problem lasting.

yea i saw those smoke colored lights but they were over $200. Too much for lights.
I blacked out my turn signal housings with Plastidip several years ago and they still look just as good as when I sprayed them. Last year I did the same to my tappet blocks and so far I've had no problems with them either.
