Ha ha! We didn't want to be part of it either hence Brexit and it looks like there's a decent Financial Trade Agreement in the offing so we may not continue to get ripped off so much for parts?
A decent tracker with remote monitoring will tell you as soon as your bike is tampered with by phone/text and e-mail. It does allow you to sleep a little better when travelling.
I sleep fine. It's just a thing. If it gets stolen I don't want it back

I wouldn't necessarily want it back either dependent on circumstances. Nevertheless prevention with an additional security layer is surely better than simply losing it and then not wanting it back? You may not get a choice if it's found!
Whoever steals my bike I want to make the rest of their life a living hell. I worked in the clothing business and we were merging with another company. A salesman didn't honor his agreement so when I changed jobs and was in competition with that company we took their biggest account. I also fired my boss on his birthday!!!
I’d prefer to take action to prevent it from being stolen. Especially on trips due to the inconvenience. Maybe if it was just a joy rider, is want it back. But, a joy rider wouldn’t wouldn’t be able to overcome the factory security, it would take a pro to do that, and it would be in a chop shop before anyone could track the GPS.
So, yeah…try to prevent it from getting stolen, then if it is depend upon insurance.
In case it gets stolen. I've left my bike outside of hotels, like many of us do. Except the Harley which I have not tried, I can lift the backend of my bikes up high enough to put on a dolly. It would be gone in under 5 min.
