This summer alone there has been 2 trucks and a small chevy that tried to kill me. Two times they attempted to push me out of my lane, another time they slowly rolled to the intersection. I'm a defensive rider but in heavy traffic, can't really avoid them all. I've been revving and honking, but the stock horn does pretty much nothing and those texters don't really pay attention to revving either.
Anyway i've been eyeballing this horn and it seems pretty legit, i don't know if anyone else had it but considering it for my Heritage Classic. Basically a trumpet train horn, air type of horn that works with stock horn, in this youtube video 4:55 mark can hear it: https://youtu.be/g4jtLR9LEF8
Anyone has the Motohorn air horn? I see they have bunch of pictures and looks good on Softail, but would be nice to hear from forum member before i order. https://motohorn.com/gallery/
Also first post on the forum. Riding a '21 Heritage Classic.
If you are depending on a horn to save you from idiot drivers, you will be come a statistic in no time. Watch for the idiots and get the hell out of their way!!
Yea i've actually checked and compared those. It is $209.95 vs $75 USD so a huge price difference. Although the pro beast is easier to install, it sounds quite mediocre in most video. Motohorn on the other hands claims to be the world's loudest motorcycle horn and i really do believe them, look at the size of this thing... But will definitely consider! I like the idea of having something extremely loud and even if it doesn't really help too much, i know they will know what they did. Perhaps teaches them a lesson.
I have the Custom Dynamics Mini-Beast....sounds like a duece-and-a-half to me!!! I think it's quite loud, and it does draw attention. I have had it on three bikes so far. Yeah...expensive, but.... Get what suits your fancy.... just make sure it's loud!!!! Good luck on your selection.
That's pretty strange, my experience is that the 17+ horns will wake the dead, WAY louder than previous years.
Very true. The horn on my '21 RKS is definitely way louder than the weak, feeble horn that was on the '04 Road King Classic I had. That one was so bad it was useless. Rev bombing was more effective. But on my new bike, the couple times I've had to use the horn, it did get the other driver's attention.
could you startle the poor distracted driver...I mean c'mon, they're concentrating on their phone and in their own little world
by introducing a WTF loud horn, could you startle them and put them into a tizzy....then who knows wtf they are going to do....swerve, stop
there are times when i think about using my horn, but i use it so infrequently that it's not a go to when I'm in an oh **** moment....at that point, i think it's best to just focus on riding out of trouble
a louder horn for when you need it is still a cool idea, lot of good reasons to do it, just not part of my muscle memory when the **** hits the fan
