Gee. I store my registration papers in my house. I carry my insurance card in my wallet. Why do you carry vehicle registration papers? Not required except for commercial vehicles as far as I know.
When I lived in the communist states , I always keep the papers in my helemt lining. I would laminate them so the sweat didn't eat the paper and it always worked well. Now I just have to figure out the trick in the free states

Maybe not in your state, but certainly in mine and most others I've encountered.
I bought a tube that fits on the back of my license plate from JP cycle. Its chrome and it blends right in on the back of my Dyna. Most people dont even notice it there. It has a rubber o-ring that keeps everything nice and dry. It has never given me a bit of trouble.
Well it's not required in Texas but I have been travelling all over the country without it. I guess I'm lucky that I have not been asked for it. It does seem kind of stupid to require it when all a cop has to do is run a tag check and compare that info to your DL and insurance info. I don't carry registration papers in my cars or truck either. Hopefully there is reciprocity with all the states.
I bought a small trunk pouch for my Gold Wing a few years ago and have kept it for my Heritage. It works well and can easily fit inside the saddlebag. It is also easily attachedattached with the interior bolts. I think I gave about $20 for it when I bought the bike. I kept it when I sold the Wing and I'm glad I did. If you don't mind buying something made for a Honda then it's a pretty decent deal. You can get them at most Gold Wing supply shops, Dennis Kirk, and I think JP Cycle might have them as well.
