Gee. I store my registration papers in my house. I carry my insurance card in my wallet. Why do you carry vehicle registration papers? Not required except for commercial vehicles as far as I know.
We are required to have license, registration and proof of insurance. Used to carry it all in my wallet. Now it is in the pouch in the tour pack. If you get pulled over here, the first thing the officer says is, "License and Registration please".

Back to the topic, I would think under the seat would be a good location on a bike that doesn't have bags, and you don't want to put an external tube on your bike (although those ones that hide behind the license plates are out of sight).
If you keep it under the seat, how do you get it out when you need it? Maybe I am missing something (I did just get up so the brain may not be working), but do you have to remove the seat to get at it?

I'd also like to know if it's legal to carry copies instead of the original registration receipt. Replacement insurance cards are a lot easier to come by than registration papers.

I bet you leave your car reg in the glove box.
Like I said in the reply above.......I NEVER keep the ins/reg cards in the glove compartment or anyplace else in my truck or car......its the exact same for all my vehicals.......all paper work stays in my wallet. The reg here in NJ is like the size of a credit card or a bit smaller and the insurance ID is not much bigger than the reg.....about 3"X3" I would say.....no problem fitting in my wallet.
