Has anyone run into these (50k miles) - Rushmore 103
1. Clutch cable oil leak at tranny or the crimp on the cable (added cable lube recently but ridden 2k since then)
2. Rocker gaskets leaking? (could just be engine vibration loosening cover bolts).
3. Intermittent right hand housing brake switch fails to work intermittently if you grip brake lever tightly brake lights go off... (this might require buying a whole new circuit board! stupid!)
Thanks for any tips.
BTW, did all Rushmores come with "H.O. Engines?
clutch cable... I suppose its a road king then, as the electras and RGs have hydraulic... yes they tend to lose the insulation and leak at the 'belly'.
rocker cover leaking is also kind of normal... just re-tighten those 6 allen screws and it stops... for a while.
brake lever switch problem is more comon on 'lesser' bikes, but looks like it hapen on CANBUS touring as well... sigh.

This is not an abnormal list of thing for 50K miles.

OK! My LowRider is a lesser bike? Anyway, Here's the fix on the brake light. Take your brake lever off and make sure your switch works when you press it with your finger. The tip of the lever needs to be reshaped. A NEW LEVER WILL NOT FIX IT. Reinstall your lever and look closely where the switch tip contacts the switch and shape accordingly. It worked for me.

The switch on Rushmores is integrated with the circuit board, not like the older model which had an actual switch. The moderator didn't understand why I posted this in the Touring forum... hmmm....

I was responding as a "lesser Bike". Good to know about the Rushmore switch.
