Acoustic Terrorists- What Next?
"On Memorial Day 2004, President George W. Bush, welcomed with open arms the "Rolling Thunder" motorcycle group to the White House. As these acoustic terrorists proudly rolled in, the president greeted them and led them on a personal tour of the Oval office like first-class citizens."
Never mind the laek of any mention of who makes up Rolling Thunder or the sacrafices our Vets have made, not that would be too easy. We're all lumped in together as "terrorists" and painted with a collective bad rap. They make it sound like what's next is that we're going to run around on our loud bikes and start to bother little old ladies and church groups. B.S.
I don't want to get into a long political debate, because that belongs elsewhere, but who are these nuts anyway? For anyone who thinks they will stop at just us bikers, you're mistaken. Anyone with a "loud" performance system on their cage is next. They may be a fringe group on the far left, but someone will take them seriously and little by little this $hit catches on and before you know it, another ***** in our collective freedoms.
Okay, soapbox is put away, but give me a break! I'm not generally a political type, but this stuff makes my blood boil. There, now I feel better.

You are trying to make sense out of something that defies logic.
There is a professional victim for every cause. Pity them but don't play into their plot.
Nothing is new though. We are just a nuisance an obstical. An annoying reminder that maybe people in cars should put down there cell phones turn down there radios and listen to there surroundings.
Then the ugliest part is then they can make up excuses when they mow us down. "I didnt see or hear the motoryclist"
Just watch what cities you drive through on your way to sturgis. Some cities and towns are not only attacking drag pipes they are now going after anything that is not factory equipped. I believe I heard that Colorado Springs is one of these cities.

And I'm with ya, it's such a ridiculous thing but at the same time, the website gets me riled. Really, though, what had me on rant was the characterization of the Rolling Thunder organization. Oblivious to the situation, only concerned with advancing their agenda...and insulting in the end.
But, as pilot1996 pointed out, it wasn't worth the time or effort I invested in it, shoulda just ignored the rage...and taken steps to block their radicalism from impacting reasonable society. I do think we've got to be informed on this issue, and start taking steps to preserve our interests. If anybody has any information on organizations combatting unreasonable motorcycle regulations, I'd be interested. I'm aware of AMA, but not familiar with any other orgs.
Thanks.
