I have a couple of friends who got ticketed in Illinois for the bars being to high. Missouri too ! They are not tobe higher than your shoulders when sitting on the bike..

For the most part though they will leave you alone unless you are doing something stupid.

Acttually, in Missouri the law is, no more than 15" above the seat. My Road King bars are 18" above the risers and I haven't had any trouble, riding all over the US. 25-30 years ago or more was a different story though.

If they are in your field of view, a friends bars and controls are.
It don't make sense to me to block your view.
But that's just me.

I'd venture a guess that the only way you'd ever get ticketed for apes is if you give the LEO a reason to stop you in the first place. And even then they would probably overlook the apes unless youre being a jerk.

That all depends. Go to Sturgis this year with some tall apes, head over to Wyoming on a nice ride and see how many times you get pulled over. My brother in law got pulled over 3 times in one day for nothing but having apes taller than his shoulders. Got a ticket on one and the rest let him go since he had already been ticketed. Wyoming during the rally might be an exception but it happens. A lot. Same thing happened to others in the campground we were in. That was 2020.
