Default What should I do?

Hi all, I'm looking to buy a harley some day in the not to distant future, but I'm not to sure what kind I should choose. I've always had a soft spot for the Harley Softail Classic, but on of my frineds told me they were a lot of trouble to take care of. So I figured I turn to you guys and gals for advice.

HEHEHE!!!

Not laughing at ya, babe, just laughing remembering the same thoughts rockin' thru my head 20 odd years ago.

Go to the Harley site, look at all the bikes, and write down the ones ya like.

THEN, go to the dealer, and see them up close and personal, and sit on them and get a feel for each one. Narrow down your list.

After that, test ride the few you like.

Then decide, buy and rideuntil you develop a permanent grin onyer face!!!!

BTW, this was all in good faith, you better not be a TROLL!!! LMMFAO!!!

Good luck...

<<<EDITED due to the fact that I just checked HER website. I called her "bro" initially. Sorry, girl. You seem OK, so just go find the scoot ya like and ride it like ya stole it! It took me a month to decide on this one.>>>

Choose the one you want. None are going to be any more work to care for than the other.

One opinion does not make a lemon bike. It should be no harder to take care of than a Sportster or a Road King.
Rent & ridebefore you buy, but you will need a motorcycle endorsement on your driver's license to rent a bike. If you have been reading the posts you will have noted the MSF courses - they provide the bikes for training, and, upon passing the course, you can get the mc endorsement without taking another test (in most states).

I agree with the above reply.....rent the bike you like for several days first.....ride it as much as you can, and try to do the same sort of riding you plan on doing when you buy your own bike. If your planning on doing a lot of two up touring.....try it on the rental first. If your planning on like 2 hour max. rides through the local fun roads.....do that on the rental. You get the idea.

Or you could just go down to the dealer and buy what you want......you will have a kick a$$ time!

GUYS,
She is from OZ, so God knows what kinda things she has ta go thru down there ta ride a showroom bike. Sounds like she has ridden bikes before, tho... ???

Black Hunter, ALL of the new bikes perform well and will last forever. The major issue now is the lean fuel settings on 06 Dynas, and all 07 and 08 bikes with the Delphi EFI. You should seriously consider adding the Daytona Twin Tec or the Thundermax to the bike along with the inevitable modifications you will do.

Otherwise, read this quick fix to the 14.7:1 to a slightly richer 14.2:1 AFR. http://www.nightrider.com/biketech/h...olt_divide.htm

Just a "band-aid" that will make your bike run better. For a complete solution at this time, the DTT or TMAX are the only way ta go. Everything else is ancient technology. (Sorry to the guys with SERT, PC, Fuelpak, etc, but it is true. You are NOT using wideband sensors.) Of course, in time, there will be even BETTER stuff, so do your research.

Being an old hot rodder anddesigning my own bikes and cars/trucks, that is IMHO...

Turul, bro.
If that bike is an 07with the 02 sensors, they will compensate for a simple pipe change. Just ride it. However, if you do the air cleaner (stock is VERY restrictive), then you need a DTT or Tmax, you have exceeded the limitations of the narrowband sensors. OK, Bro?

BTW, stay away from the SE slipons. The NEW ones are Sheeit! Buy some GOOD pipes! LOL

Warranty? Ask the Dealer. Different places say different things...

Keep the chrome up.
