On my 103 twin cam with 42,000 miles the shifter shaft seal leaks, according to a dealer. Just enough to coat some oil around as per photo. Is this a big deal? I’m not inclined to be pulling this apart myself and it seems like a lot of labor if it’s minor. So that’s the question, what is the urgency level here? My thinking is hold until there is another reason to have the inner primary cover off.

Not an issue unless you freak out about a drop or two of oil now and then and you definitely won't lose enough oil to worry about having to add more oil to your scooter.
Thanks for the responses. All of them make sense. I watched the video and I feel like it’s borderline for me to do it. I do have a couple of buddies who have better tools and skills than me so that’s another route. Meantime I’m going with IBE’s suggestion, cleaned it up and see if the problem resurfaces in the next few hundred clicks.
