One trip from Ft. Sill to Orlando and another from Dayton to San Antonio. Both something like 1300 miles in one run, done 20 years apart. Never again...too old for that anymore. I'm happiest now with 500 mile days.
It was Fred Hamm. He did it on a knucklehead. 1825 miles in 24 hours. It was on www.AmericanRider.com. I found that interesting. It said he averaged 78 mph. Pretty impressive.
Sounds like that particular record was set on a closed course (dry lake bed). Impressive. I am trying to find a 24 hr record for miles traveled on public highways.
personal longest, (and don't want todo it again),
home in kentucky to marathon key, florida 1,190 miles 17.5 hours, 9 hours spent in marathon, then back to my home in kentucky 1,190 miles 17.5 hours.
total 2,380 miles 35 hours of riding, 9 hours of "down-time".
the trip was to attend a navy buddies funeral and had to be back at work the next day. it was a hard trip, but he would have done it forme, i still miss him.
