Have you ever ...?

I had always dreamed of each of us having a bike someday, (when we retire, and the kids are grown ya know), my dream was a wideglide, his was always the herr. softtail., 'til then, one is a great start. besides, as a never before rider, I figured I would start with a less expensive look-a-like to learn on later in the summer. If that isn't enough for one story, how 'bout this...I was happy as a clam riding with him, I mean who wouldn't enjoy huggin' the ol'man on a long ride
. Then in June, I go to the Alaska Ralley in Fairbanks, and still don't have all my gear (chaps, boots, ect.), and I need to stop off at the local Harley shop befor the afternoons ride, and just pick up some chaps..... well, I did not find any chaps that I liked, so I just started peeking at everything else while I wait for the rest of our group to finish shopping. What jumped out at me next was a silver '02 wideglide, fork stabilizer, windshield, and aftermarked exaust, (half of my dream accesory list) just SCREAMING my name[sm=roll.gif]. No-way, here is MY bike sitting up in Fairbanks. I had just quit work for good,(family issues, kids more important than Costco) and a 401k being withdrawn, in just 2 weeks. Now my best friend in the whole world says then....... "I have a credit card if you want the bike today.." yup, you guessed it, I bought it
, or should I say she bought it, and I bought it from her 2 weeks later, with no regrets. Now my guy and I ride together, separatly, and the kids can go too.... sometimes.
