Just got in pork chop saddlebag guards from hogworkz and there is a defect in each guard. They are in a place where they won't be seen but don't want them to rust. The defects are small gouges in the metal. Not sure if the chrome is covering these gouges or the chrome itself is gouged as well.
Not sure whether I should send them back or touch up to prevent rust. Advice? It sucks the number of parts that arrive damaged by shipping or defects sent by the factory.
If you really can't see it, and it won't drive you nuts, I'd put some kind of paint on the defect and ask the vendor to comp you a bit for the problem; that's what I'd do. And it's win/win for you and the seller.

I'm in the same boat ... If it's in an inconspicuous spot a bit of Rustoleum silver???
FWIW - I needed to touch up some bolts, nuts and screws on my '42. I took a shot at this Honda silver - satin, and it looked great. And I didn't have to get and use a whole can of Rustoleum chrome. If you go the chrome paint route, spay it on a scrap piece of cardboard or wood, and then quickly spot brush it on.
It's what I would try.
