I've been using the K&L MC550 jack for five years. My only complaint is that the jack will leak fluid but it's easy to top it off and get the full lift range. Once up and the locking bars in place it's stable.
Pretty sure you'll like the J&S jack. I've had mine for about 10 years now and still performs well for my King and Sportster. I'm not a die-hard maintenance guy but it's nice for the minor stuff and cleaning. What I like the most is I can ride into my garage, put the bike on the jack and spin it around ready for the next ride or move it around easily to get the cars in.
I've never had any issues with the jack, but as a just-in-case, I got an extra hydraulic bottle from J&S before they went belly-up.

Oh I'm aware. I had one with my previous Road Glide and loved it! I should've never sold it. I'll keep this one forever.
I found a used J&S jack on FB Marketplace. It's only 4 hours away and I'm driving down to get it tomorrow. It has a new Sunex bottle jack on it too.
Score! Well done, sir
Love my J&S.
I also use 2 regular scissor jacks now when I am just doing more-involved engine work. Rock solid, and I don't have the jack base in my way on one side of the bike like you can when using the J&S.
If you ever get to that point, you will know what I mean
Goose_NC.....
You might be correct, BUT from the history of J&S, many people continued to place orders (ie:w/deposits) even as negative feedback began to appear on the internet about delays and their customer service. I can't recall anyone complaining about the design and build quality of the jack itself. It was the 2 ton bottle jacks made in China that was an issue for some due to leakage......BUT NOT the design or build quality of the jack. (Bottle jacks are somewhat easy and relatively inexpensive to replace).
I think there's a "sweet spot" in pricing for a proven top quality copy of the J&S jack (under a new name) made in the USA. !5 years ago I paid about $325, which even back then was the priciest amongst the jacks at the time. So, with inflation over time perhaps $450-$500 would be appropriate, but a metal fabricator.welder would be in a better position to determine a price point.
All I know is that when I bought my $28,000 Ultra Limited back in 2015, I wanted the BEST quality jack to raise and easily roll my 1,000 lb machine $325 was reasonable. IF buying one today, $500 is still "reasonable" today.
