Default Service Interval Costs

Can someone tell me how much they paid for 1000 mile service, 5000 mile service and 10000 mile service? I know a lot of guys do their own maintenance that is great. I am asking for those of us who do not. I am trying to gauge if the prepaid maintenance is worth it.. If you prefer to DM me the numbers you paid that is great. Also if you don't drive 5000 miles per year is there a requirement for a once a year service?

Read that service contract well. See what those requirements are for the services contracted for. The three I read required all services be performed as per the owner's manual. There are more services than most actually perform on their own bikes. Including the recommended "annual" services. In my opinion, if you are a 10,000 mile a year rider, those contracts are worthwhile as prepaid maintenance. And, all those services have to be done at one dealer usually.

I recommend all new bike purchases, with the low profile tires/wheels, include the wheel and tire contracts. High probability you will need it if you ride the pothole roads like I do.

you're going to get wide variations on the service costs but people I know that have opted for the prepaid maintenance run the numbers and it lowers the overall individual service costs so appears to be worth it..as far as "Also if you don't drive 5000 miles per year is there a requirement for a once a year service?" yes, every Owners Manual Service Schedule I have seen for our dozen Harleys over the last 20 years states time or mileage, whichever comes first for many items.

upwgdrb @upwgdrb. The year is any vehicle. Oil companies say yearly.

Full cover bike insurance would cover tire and wheel one would think. Of course minus the deductible.

Down side is if you make a claim on bike insurance, they are going to get it back over the next few years.

And interestingly, after a certain age, even with no claim and no really new vehicles, they steadily raise rates 15- 20% each year after 75 years old.

My recent renewal was 30%. I ask my new agent what was up.. He did a lot of typing and said maybe your not driving enough. .

Called my old insurance agent and friend for 50+ years and ask him. He simply said age. They want you to go somewhere else. But in reality, even a quote from Progressive did help but took any saving back with the home insurance bundle.

One other quote would not even insure the house on tidal water. Have Government Flood but they would not risk Hurricane.

My last bike had all the extra warranties . It was almost 2 years old when I purchased it. Owner had it serviced before turning it over to me.

He had upgraded oil like in the past to SYN3. At the time, it was about $10 a qt out in the show room.

They added about $100 extra. Showed 6 qts. (I assume 4 for engine and 2 for transmission and primary. I guess it was more for the labor to pour it in?
