Lol, nice.

Ihave a few rental homes that are located on dirt roads. The county does maintain one of them regularly, meaning they scrape and grade the road about once a year or so. It stays hard and compact even in inclimate weather.
The other road is a tad sandy and doesnt fall within their maintenance boundries, so I maintain it myself.I have used 3 different materials over the years such asgravel, slag or a hardened crush n run. The cost varies for each of theseso it's certainly worth checking around to find the lowest priced material. I wouldcheck with the county first as they may maintain it with a grader periodicallyat no expense to you.

I live at the end of a quarter mile dirt/gravel lane that is self maintained. Four wheel drive is a necessity to get out in the winter. Potholes and erosion we have to fix ourselves(three houses on it). But when the leaves are on the trees, I can't see any of my neighbors, and the kids can go back and forth to their friends house as they please. I wouldn't trade it for anything. I do have to wash the bike a lot, but I bought a tan truck, so no problems there.

I would go for it......

Riding down a dirt road on a Harley is not difficult.....however I do recommend taking it slow and gain experience on it.

I've ridden both my Electra Glides down gravel, grass, dirt, and even mud a few times. I've also done a few water crossings as well. It has gone down some roads where I wouldn't even take my car. The bike will sometimes scrape the bottom....it a pothole is deep enough, big deal though. Of course the bike gets dirty as well.

I don't go out of my way to ride on that stuff....but if it pops up.....and is a place where I want to go.....then I go. I'm not gonna let some little obstacle get in my way.
