I don't remember the brand, but I bought my amplified antenna at Circuit City. I have it mounted under the fairing and it works as good as a standard antenna.

Ed,

I just got my got my tune trapper today. I have been using a Dakota Digital powered antenna, but for 30.00 thought I would try the tune trapper, as some have said it was a better choice. Don't know when I will get it installed, but it's too cold to ride right now anyway.

Regards,

Bill

Its installed and from the first test I have to say this antenna works GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Im getting Las Vegas radio stations, and this is something I have never done in the 8 years I have lived in Saint George UT.
Stuck it above the headlight assy as far forward as possible and everything went back together like it came apart.

All in all the best 30 bucks I have spent to date!!

Ed,

Had you used the Dakota Digital or other powered antenna prior to this? Are you getting better reception than with the factory whip? I guess so if you are getting stations you never got before.

How is the AM reception, and do you get any weather bands?

I plan on getting mine installed as soon as things warm up a little.

Thanks.

Regards,

Bill

No I never tried any other antenna prior to this one. I wasnt real keen on a powered antenna for some reason so I opted to give this one a try.

Heads and tails better then factory whip bar none. AM, FM, and YES the weather band comes in loud and clear as well. I am pleased with the results.

Mind you I have yet to go on a ride with it , but in the garage with the the door shut Im getting more channels then I ever did before so to me that is a good sign.

Ed,

I will probably get mine in right after Christmas. I have 7 days off then and will have some time on my hands. I asked on another thread, but do you have any pics of the installation? If so I would be greatful if you could post a couple.

I'm going to install the tune trapper, and then switch back and forth between it and the Dakota Digital and see what differences I find.

Regards,

Bill
