I went down to the Harley shop, might just be ordering a new night train. They asked if I wanted the upgraded wheels for 500 more dollars. Are they worth it, Ive tried looking online and to me they look about the same.
Not sure what they're tryin to sale ya there... but mine.. as you see in my sig.. are the standard package wheels for the Train~ The only change.. and I think the stealership here was askin 350. for it.. is the rear wheel is all alloy as apposed to the the black center on mine~ So it's really a matter of the color scheme you go with and what looks best with it~ If you think you may end up changin to after market wheels down the road anyhow... I'd just let them leave the standard wheels on and find yourself a better deal from one of our sponsers~
what are the upgraded wheels for a train? My bike has the Profile laced wheels they arent deep dish like the other wire wheels, but my wheels are 16 in, trains are different,
According to the H-D web site, the optional wheels are the chrome 'profile' laced wheel up front and the polished slotted forged aluminum disc in the rear; comes standard with chrome laced wheel (not the 'profile' wheel) up front and black slotted disc out back. I'm guessing that the optional rear wheel is the same one that comes on the Softail Custom.
On the FX bikes the wheel upgrade is that the front rim is smooth with no lips. The rear is a solid smooth polished aluminum wheel. I have it on my Springer. I use the mini powerball with metal polish to keep it shinny!!!!!
I personally dont like the look of the wheel upgrade and prefr the powdercoated rear and a lip on the 21 inch front wheels. I think the smooth wheel opyion is nice on the fxd, fxdc, fxdb, flstf, flstc, and flstsbut not on models with 20 inch tires. Theres alot better things to use 500 for.

Yup yup.. there you have it~ I didn't realize the front was any different, but the only diff in the rear is black or not black~
You get a chrome back wheel and the "profile" (no edges) front wheel, they look good.........$500 is the average price, but I bet you could beat him down a little.

The rear wheel is NOT chrome. It's polished aluminum.
