cams?

I'm thinking about installing gear drive cams when i do the big bore kit .
Looking for input here the good the bad etc.

stock bore engine but I have the SS 510 cams and love them

I too, have the S&S 510G's and made a huge difference in a stock engine.

I went as far as i could go on my 95 biuld,
cnc ported heads
S&S 585 cam
Im real happy

Repost your question in the tech forum, engine sub link. You will get alot more hits there and do a search. As long as you check crank run out and set your gears up accordingly they are great and quite. If you just slap them in 9 out of 10 times be fine but what if you are that 10%..............???

Talking with PhilM about doing a BB on my bike. He suggested the HQ-0034 or the Andrews 26 cams, for a bagger. If you are not familiar with Phil, he is the guy on that bad @ss RG pulling wheelies. Obviously, the man knows a little bit about ebgine modifications... in my eyes.

I had gear drive TW31G on my last ride, other than the gear whine (which sounds a bit like a supercharger ..not a bad thing) no issues and plenty of piece of mind as it was the older TC design. On my 07 I'm using an SE 255 for now , as they changed to a roller design so far the old tensioner issues seem to be gone. Gear drive is good for a few more ponies due to its superior mechanical efficiency.
