Hey Darrell, I cut mine from the top and the sides. It seemed that the lower I cut it, the fatter it looked. So I purchased a damaged one from e-bay and finally found a height and width that I liked. I saved what was left, you can see it in pic3 - I used ROSEN paper (used to protect flooring during construction) to protect one side and marked where I would cut directly on blue masking tape. I sanded my cut lines with a orbital sander (careful to only sand only the edge) and then 400 paper on arubber sanding blockto smooth out the sharp edges. If you want I'll be happy to transfer my leftover onto a piece of paperso you can use it as a template. Mine is 16" high and 20- 7/8 wide,My eyes look just over the top for a clear view and if the weather gets rough or bugs start flying I can tilt my head down so I can see just under the top. Good Luck. Tom
I just cut mine down, took maybe an hour for everything, used an air tool with a cutting wheel, layed out the cut with masking tape, sat on the bike after it was done and it'll work for me.
