Default Riser rant

Just need to rant here a little. I love my night train, but the stright stock risers bring me to far forword. So I got a pair of paul yafee risers 6" rise 3.5 inches of pull back. They would not clear the dash (speedo). Even though they are advertised to clear the dash. So I bought a 1" riser extention to bring it up enough to clear the dash, still not high enough. It appears that the highest riser extention made is 1-1/2 or 1-3/4 inch.
Sooooo I got three 1" wide by one half inch high shaft spacers from aubuchon. Along with the 1" extention this gave me2-1/2 inches+the 6" from the yafee riser for a total of 8-1/2 inches. This was the perfect riding position. The only problem was with so many moving parts on the triple tree the bars would not stay in alinement.
Soooo back to square one. After finding that no one makes a 2-1/2 inch riser extention unless it is custom made. I found an old set at a harley dealer which were 2" high!!! Yepee it appears custom chrome used to make them but stoped. These risers extentions had been sitting on a shelf for three years. I still needed to add a shaft spacer, because the riser is 1-1/4 wide. The extention inside diamateris only 1" wide. I just put a little black tape on the spacer and it looks great.
I love the feel and look of drag bars on my night train, I just needed a little more reach. Is that to much to ask??? Has any one else had this problem? How did you solve it? Thanks

Haha! I love my NT bars but cant find any aftermarket bars WITHOUT pullback! They all have TOO MUCH pullback for me! I wish i could find 0 pullback bars... Im in the opposite problem as you.

Cruise the fatbook at the drag specialties website and look for big buffalo bars.

You could alwaystry Wild 1's "W0560" Drag Bars http://www.wild1inc.com/handlebars.html(just scroll down until you come to the 560's). They will definitely solve your reach and clearance problems.

Then scroll to the very bottom to "Customers Bikes" and there are more pics of the 560's on Standards and Night Trains.

They are pricing them at $214.95, but I know at least 2 suppliers that are selling them for $179.95

Solved mine by giving up the drag bars, keeping the risersand adding bars from an XL1200.

Here's a set of 9 1/2 pullbacks from Debrix. Also, many other choices there.
