So ,let me get this straight..

Not only do you have to wear a helmet now...but it also has to be DOT approved!!!! BLASPHEMY.....haha..

Ithink any helmet is better than no helmet...i also think helmets ARE a good thing...sure helmets may not do much at 90mph into oncoming traffic..but lets be real.....what about the newbie who tips there bike over at a light because their shoe lace got stuck on a peg or something and hits their head on the ground....that could mean the difference between medical bills....and just embarassment.

How do we classifya newbie again? There sia thread around here somewhere....lol

Anyays ya usually. Most people get lucky and it gets stuck only fora moment and they figure it out....before an issue arises. They they tuck their laces in....or get boots...of some kind..or soemthing...

Of course tere are countless other scenarios...

Like on this one sportbike forum I'm on...yeah...dude was nervous because there was a cop behind him(didnt explain why) and just fell over on his bike...
A buddy of mine likes to sit on his bike whent he side stand is down..thats great...if you get it down all the way...he fell and hit his head on a gaspump curb...luckily he still ahd his helmet on!!(the helmet was damaged nicely I might add...)

Hell even a spill in the rain on a greasy spot stopping for an intersection.

Whatever the cause of the crash......modern helmets are comfortable enough that there isn't much reason to not wear them anyways..even the DOT brain buckets are FAR better than nothing at all...

Tried going to the link in the article but naturally as mentioned in #2 what is the "new" standard and is there a grandfather clause? I don't see any of the current models becoming illegal now?

Pro choice is good...

BUT

Why are you agaisnt helmets? They just seem like common sense...a vented brain bucket has to be almost as comfortable if not more so than a do rag on the interstate...even in the city it aint bad...

but like I said...

besides "the look" what is the benefit to no helmet?

Are you opposed to your headlight being on everytime you turn the key as mandated by federal law?
