I am kind of new to the Harley ownership experience. I went in to my local dealer to buy my wife a leather jacket for Christmas and was pretty schocked to see all if not most of the Harley jackets are made in China. So wanting some recommendations, I know Schott leathers are made here and I came across this web sight http://www.foxcreekleather.com/. Has anyone bought from either company and how is the quality etc? I have a Hein Gericke leather jacketthat I have had for years and I think it was made in Germany and has served me well. Thanks
Try running a search on "leather" on the forums. A topic well covered around here. Avoid Paki leathers unless your wife's arms are disproportionately long and thin. Overseas stuff is tailored to people around the mfrs. 25 years ago found out about made-in-china pants. The natives have very little in front and very little in back. Yes, I have a Fox Creek jacket and it is awesome! The quality is terrific and they are real easy to work with if you need to exchange for sizing or anything else. Much better quality than most of the made in China HD jackets. And their price isn't bad at all for the qualityyou get. Made in the USA too! You won't be disapointed doing business with them.

Wow, I just looked at mine and it says made in indonesia! I never noticed that! Oh well, I love it. I'm sure the local harley shop can tell you what they have that is USA made. Just my personal opin, but I would want an HD jacket.
Trust me (as they say); you aren't going to be able to pick one out that she likes. Whatever you bring home is going back. Mail-order is worse, because no-two jackets will fit the same way.
Been there, done that.
When you take her into the store and fuss WITH HER as she tries them on, it will benefit all. I even fell for the leather chaps she tried on. $500 later, I am very happy that SHE is happy.
Either that, or buy a mini-child sized jacket (that you know is going back), but gives you something to wrap for under the tree and shows proof that men do know how to make a shopping effort for their gal.
You have a .001% chance of buying a jacket she likes AND fits her.
